With the help of tools from Google ( Google Keyword Planner  ), we can do research to get popular keywords or low competition according to the key that we input and of course we can maximize the words that users should use to search from these tools.

Here's an explanation of keyword research with Google Keyword Planner

  2. Set the target country
  3. select a language
  4. Click "get ideas"

Then you will be directed to the following page:

From here we can see that there are 320 people who search for the keyword "buy clothes" in a month. On the other hand, if I change with "buying and selling clothes" it turns out the results are 260, this means that those who are looking for clothes are more than buying clothes.

By utilizing our knowledge of on-page SEO from previous posts, then we can optimize our website pages by using keywords selling clothes rather than buying clothes. What should you pay attention to in keyword research for this blog and website?
In general there are 4 important components that must be considered in keyword research, namely search volume, difficulty keywords, keyword suggestion, and SERP.

1. Search Volume

Keyword volume search is how many keywords a Google searches in a certain period of time. Usually keyword tools will display many keyword searches in the last month according to the latest results.
For example, the search volume of a word shows the result of the number 100. That is, the keyword is searched 100 times on Google in the period per month.

2. Keyword Difficulty (Level of Difficulty Keyword)

Keyword difficulty shows the difficulty level of a keyword to be on the first page of search results. In general the keyword tool uses a scale of 0-100. The greater the number the more difficult the keyword is to reach the first position in the search results. Usually the difficulty keyword also shows how many backlinks are needed so that an article can be on the first page of a search result. The higher the difficulty keyword, the more backlinks needed.

3. Keyword Suggestion

Keyword suggestion is a keyword suggestion that is related to the keyword you are searching for. For example, you do keyword research with the keyword "buying and selling clothes", the keyword tool will provide keyword suggestions such as "buying and selling clothes online", "buying and selling cheap clothes", or "buying and selling cheap clothes online"

In general, keyword tools will give advice on long tail keywords. What is long tail keyword? Besides the keywords that are searched for, GKP also displays the number of searches from similar keywords. For example, from the picture above, besides the keywords "new clothes" there are also others such as "buying and selling clothes", "buying clothes online", "buying and selling clothes online", and others. That's what I mean here as Long tail keyword. So you can make a benchmark for what keywords you should use.

4. Search Engine Result Page (SERP)

SERP shows pages that are ranked top in the keyword search results that you are researching. Its function is to see what the quality of the pages can be ranked in the top of Google search results.
